Nestling amongst the Chyulu Hills and lying in the shadow of the magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro, the Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge offers supreme comfort in utter tranquillity and dramatic natural surroundings.

All of Kilaguni's luxury rooms are en suite, with ceiling fan, WiFi connectivity, complimentary mineral water and toiletries, hair dryers and safes.  All rooms enjoy views of either the wildlife-rich watering hole or the undulating Chyulu Hills, which can be enjoyed from the comfort of your private veranda.  The Kilaguni Suites also offer separate sitting rooms with broad terrace, private balcony, dining table, satellite TV and dining table.

The semi-open central dining room overlooks the watering hole, and boasts a broad stone-built viewing terrace.  Breakfast offers both continental and cooked options, including a typical full-English breakfast, and lunch is served buffet style including meat, poultry, fish and vegetarian options.  Dinner is a table d'hôte  affair, featuring soup, entrée, pudding, cheese and biscuits and coffee or tea.  Meals are supplemented by the refreshing salad buffet.  The majority of Kilungani's meat, dairy products and fruit and veg are sourced from local communities.

The open-air bar, complete with day beds and watering hole vista, serves new and old world wines, local and imported beers and spirits, fine coffees and teas and refreshing soft drinks.

For the quintessentially African dining experience, try a breakfast, lunch or dinner in the bush.  At Kilungani, all bush meals are cooked on-site using a “bush kitchen”, and your dining site will feature well presented tables and safari chairs from which to enjoy your chosen view.  To make it extra special, you can start your bush dining experience with sundowner cocktails.

Activities at the lodge include, but are not limited to; day and night time game drives, breakfast on Lion Rock, wildlife talks, nature walks, swimming and spa treatments.  Children are more than welcome, and will love the Masai dancing and cultural displays.

Reviews & Testimonials of Kilaguni Serena Lodge

"Absolutely outstanding & wonderful lodge - out of this world”"

To stay here on our last night on safari was amazing. The room overlooked the watering hole and the restaurant is open at the side so as you're dining you verlook the watering hole with all the animals. Just a wonderful wonderful place.

We noticed that there were many more nationalities than the other lodges so this is obviously a place that has an excellent reputation all over the world. The pool was wonderful, who cares what the temperature is! Just to be there in that environment is fantastic. Service, staff, food, views, everything was amazing.

Our room was very luxurious, no mosquito net which surprised us but I didn't get one bite throughout our safari yet got battered back at the hotel in Mombasa (The Voyager). Again, no hairdryer but they're available from reception at no extra cost. This is the best lodge out of the 3 we stayed in and would highly recomment it. Enjoy! Chris & Liz, North West UK

"Outstanding location"

Imagine sitting on your balancy talking about the events of the day, when you see a herd of elephants wander up to the watering hole less than 50m away! That is what happened to us at this amazing lodge. We booked a 3 day/2night safari through JT Safaris (www.julius-safaris.com). The hotel was very well appointed and the bar and restaurant overlook the watering hole with the resident hippo (although he didn't do much).

The watering hole was always busy with a variety of animals visiting. We got a bit of a shock when we left tohe room and nearly walking into a baboon but you soon get over that. The pool area was beautiful but we didn't spend much time there as we were too busy watching the watering hole. Ask for a room overlooking the watering hole to get the most out of your visit. Rooms 1 - 4 definitely have that view. 6 - 12a don't but I don't know about all the others
